Terms of Service

  1. Agreement to Terms
    These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the mobile application Before you scroll: Pray (the “App”), published by Josue Olivero. By downloading, installing, or using the App you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. This Agreement is between you and Josue Olivero, not Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App.
  2. Eligibility
    The App is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian where local law requires it. By using the App you represent that you meet the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction or have parental permission.
  3. License
    Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control.
  4. App Functionality & Content
    The App is an app-locker that encourages a short prayer or reflective action to unlock selected device applications. The App provides religious content for personal use only. You are responsible for using the App in a way that is safe and appropriate for your circumstances. The App does not provide medical, legal, or professional advice. The App relies on Apple’s system-level permissions (Screen Time API). Functionality may vary based on device configuration and operating system limitations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free restriction of third-party apps.
  5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
    Some features or content may require payment or a subscription via Apple In-App Purchase (IAP). Purchases are handled by Apple and billed through your Apple account. Refunds, billing disputes, and subscription management are handled via Apple’s billing system. We may use RevenueCat to manage subscription state — RevenueCat will process purchase receipts and related metadata as needed to manage subscriptions. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You may manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
  6. Local Data & No Central Database
    By design the App stores user-specific data (lock settings, prayer progress, preferences, local history) locally on the device. We do not require creation of a remote account for standard functionality. If you enable any optional features that explicitly sync data or back up to cloud services, those features will notify you and require your consent.
  7. Third-Party Services
    We use third-party services to operate and improve the App, including:
    • RevenueCat — subscription management
    • Aptabase — privacy-focused analytics
    • Cloudflare — secure server infrastructure and Workers
    • Apple — in-app purchase processing
    By using the App, you acknowledge that these third parties may process limited technical and usage data as described in our Privacy Policy.
  8. User Conduct
    You agree not to use the App to:
    • Attempt to interfere with or circumvent its security;
    • Harvest or collect personal information from other users;
    • Use the App for unlawful or harmful purposes.
  9. Termination
    We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for operational reasons. Upon termination, your license ends and you should delete the App and any local files as desired.
  10. Disclaimers
    THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.
  11. Limitation of Liability
    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID, IF ANY, TO DOWNLOAD THE APP OR ZERO IF THE APP IS FREE.
  12. Indemnification
    You agree to indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the App.
  13. Changes to Terms
    We may modify these Terms; changes take effect after we post the revised Terms with a new effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
  14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
    These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, without regard to conflict of law principles.
